Home Office + Ikea Desk Hack

DIY Ikea Desk

A good environment can make the world of a difference when it comes to getting work done. I always crave change and now that I have the privilege of working remote, I needed the perfect desk set up. After stalking Pinterest and ballin' on a hardcore budget, I finally found a desk set up that took just one day (actually a few hours) of DIYing and I couldn't be happier!

With the help of Ikea and my boyfriend, I am officially obsessed with my new home office and want to share how easy it is to do this yourself!

First things first, Ikea is great because almost all pieces of small furniture are purchased individually, so you can mix and match items however you'd like. Personally, I love a white desk top, so I chose the LINNMON white table top (47 1/4 x 23 5/8") and it only cost me $15.99.

Next up, I had to choose the legs. I was torn between the Finnvard and Lerberg legs, because they both had the potential to bring that industrial feel to a room. But, since I have a small apartment, I ultimately went with the Lerberg legs (pictured on the left)!

After spending a whoppin' $36, we headed to Home Depot to get spray paint because I needed to add that personal touch. I grabbed gold metallic spray paint (all gold everything in my life in case you haven't noticed) and it took us 20 minutes to paint each leg + 15 min. for them to dry.

Then, it was time to add all my little prints, trinkets and fake plants to the desktop and we have our finished product! You might notice that I'm obsessed with Rifle Paper Co.designlovefest and Harbr Co. wallpapers + prints.

There are so many other Ikea hacks I found on Pinterest, so this is the first of many projects! Let me know if you've done any recent DIY's in the comments below!
